21 May 2025 – The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), through its Lingap Kapwa outreach program, donated 476 repacked eco-bags and 50 boxes of assorted items such as clothing, bags, footwear and toys to over 1,000 individuals affected by a devastating fire that struck Barangay 81, Caloocan City on 14 May 2025.  The fire displaced more than 200 families who barely were able to salvage their belongings.

Responding to the call of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to help calamity-stricken communities and in pursuance of MIAA's CSR initiatives, the distribution took place on May 20, 2025, in coordination with Barangay 81 Chairwoman Lerma Coronel. Items were sorted for children and adults to ensure their rightful use.

The goods came from unclaimed lost and found items turned over to the MIAA, distribution of which was made in accordance with MIAA Memorandum Circular No. 05, Series of 2021 prescribing guidelines on its disposal.

“We are happy that we are able to put the items into good use especially for those who need them badly," said MIAA General Manager Eric Jose Ines.
