MIAA DATA PRIVACY NOTICE

The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of data privacy and security for all individuals and entities pursuant to the provisions of Republic Act No. 10173 also known as the Data Privacy Act of 2012. The Authority recognizes the importance of protecting sensitive information and is committed to implementing robust measures to safeguard data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.

 

Collection

The types of personal data that will be collected and processed, whether submitted manually or electronically, depend on the service that will be availed, or for purposes reasonably necessary to carry out the functions or activities of MIAA, including but not limited to full name, gender, place and date of birth; residential/permanent address; personal contact details, including telephone number, and email address; copy of identification cards, TIN, GSIS/SSS/PAGIBIG number; latest income documentation; and other information necessary to provide the service that is needed.

 

Use

The MIAA utilizes personal data/information for documentation and processing purposes to properly address applications, requests, inquiries for action and response in compliance with laws, rules, regulations, policies, and requirements issued by government organizations/institutions such as the Civil Service Commission, Commission on Audit, Department of Budget and Management, Bureau of Internal Revenue, Congress of the Philippines, National Archives of the Philippines, Office of the President, Office of the Ombudsman, Department of Foreign Affairs, Bureau of Treasury and others.

 

Sharing

Personal data/information is not disclosed to third parties unless with consent from the Data Subject and from the Personal Information Controller (PIC) and except for legitimate purposes only.

 

Retention and Disposal

The MIAA shall keep personal data/information only for as long it is necessary. If the purpose has been served, personal data collected will be disposed of/discarded in accordance with pertinent laws such as those issued by the National Archives of the Philippines.

 

Security

Data/information is stored in paper and electronic formats. The Authority has established measures to prevent unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, ..modification, inspection, recording or destruction of personal information. Data Privacy is ensured through the implementation of administrative, logical, and physical security controls, for which compliance is monitored .by a Data Protection Officer (or Data Protection Office) and assistants designated as Compliance Officers of Privacy (COP).

 

Access/Correction of Personal Data

Data subjects have the right to ask for a copy of submitted personal data/information, that the Authority holds about them, and to request for correction or update, as needed, subject to presentation of appropriate documents.
